Beyond The Valley 2026/27
Every entry ticket to Beyond The Valley 2026/27 is sold out: the allocation went in the presale, as The Music Network reported on 6 August 2026, and the organiser's page calls it "officially an instant sell out". The festival runs from Monday 28 December 2026 to Friday 1 January 2027 at Barunah Plains on the Hamilton Highway at Hesse, 126 km west of Melbourne. BTV, as everyone calls it, is a camping festival over New Year's, strictly 18+, run by Untitled Group and presented with triple j. The organiser's answers sit on four of its pages and its buses and hotels are sold by two other companies; this guide reads them together and dates every figure.
Tickets: sold out, and the organiser's resale
Megatix, "the only official ticketing website" in the organiser's words, is where the prices were listed: on the organiser's tickets page, read 21 October 2026, the 4 Day Festival Entry is $519 and the New Year's Eve entry (31 Dec – 1 Jan) $289, each plus booking fee, which the organiser marks "+BF", and each tagged "Sold out". Camping isn't in any entry ticket, and the General and Premium Camp passes show "Sold Out" on the organiser's pages as well, read 22 October 2026. For anyone who missed out, the organiser names Tixel "the only authorised resale platform" and points to the Tixel waitlist for relisted tickets. Tixel, the organiser's authorised resale and waitlist Every listed price, the organiser's three sentences on when that resale opens, the payment plans and the rules on the name on a ticket are on the tickets page.
Dates, and the move to Barunah Plains
Four nights, with New Year's Eve on the Thursday. Camper gates open at 8am on each of 28, 29, 30 and 31 December and don't reopen after 8pm; day-pass entry (entry without camping) runs 12pm to 8pm on the same four days. Campers may stay until midday on Friday 1 January 2027 and the site must be empty by 6pm. The festival has been at Barunah Plains since 2022, its "forever home" in the organiser's words. Gate times by day, the arrival windows for cars, how the 2026 sale ran and where the festival was held before are on the dates page.
Where it is, and how you get there
Barunah Plains is at 4484 Hamilton Highway, Hesse VIC 3321, in Golden Plains Shire; the organiser puts it 126 km west of Melbourne and "just under two hours" by car. No public transport reaches the gate: the organiser's route is the V/Line train from Southern Cross to Geelong and then the BTV bus from opposite the station, which Melbourne on the Move sells. A BTV bus also leaves Carlton Gardens, at the corner of Victoria Parade and Nicholson Street, on each entry day, and day buses run from Ballarat and Torquay. Routes by car from Melbourne, the two airports, Sydney and Adelaide, the bus timetable with fares, and where to be dropped off are on the location page.
Lineup, as announced
The lineup was announced on Friday 31 July 2026, as BroadwayWorld reported; the organiser's page carries no date and lists the acts by day and stage with "+ More To Be Announced". In the organiser's order, the Valley Stage list for New Year's Eve begins with John Summit, Black Eyed Peas, The Veronicas, Vince Staples and The Jungle Giants; Tuesday 29 December's begins with Skepta, Disco Lines, Armand Van Helden and Nia Archives; Wednesday 30 December's with Ocean Alley, Overmono and Boys Noize. The Dance Dome and Dr Dan's run all four days, Monday 28 December included, and The Lounge Room carries talks, podcasts and comedy. Every act by day and stage, and the Lounge Room's list, is on the lineup page.
Camping
Camping is a separate ticket, and the General and Premium Camp passes show "Sold Out" on the organiser's tickets and accommodation pages, read 22 October 2026; the pre-pitched and Lux tents are priced per tent, with entry tickets on top, and carry no status on the organiser's pages. Camping with a car needs a Car Pass, and the organiser says the remaining ones go on sale "later in the year". The passes, the tents with Megatix's own flags, what you can't bring, the organiser's words on weather and fire, and the hotel packages in Geelong and Ballarat are on the camping page.
Questions readers ask
What is Beyond The Valley?
A music festival with camping over New Year's, run by Untitled Group and presented with triple j, at Barunah Plains in Victoria since 2022. The organiser's information page calls this "the eleventh edition" and its about page says the festival "enters its second decade"; it began on Phillip Island in 2014 and moved to Lardner Park in 2015 before Barunah Plains. The about page names the areas on site: The Valley Stage, Dance Dome, Dr Dan's, Main Street, Downtown, The Woods and the Valley Club. Source: the organiser's information and about pages, read 22 Oct 2026.
Is BTV 18+?
Yes, "strictly 18+", with valid photo ID at the gate: an Australian driver licence (NSW, VIC and SA digital licences included), a Victorian learner permit, a proof of age card, a Keypass ID, an Australian or foreign passport, or a Victorian marine licence. The terms require you to be "aged 18 years or over, at the time of the Event", and the organiser's FAQ answers "Do you offer complimentary birthday tickets?" with "Unfortunately not". Source: the organiser's information page and terms, read 22 Oct 2026.
Is BTV BYO?
No. Alcohol from outside is banned, and so are glass, gas cookers, barbecues and fires of any kind. The full list of what can't come in is on the camping page. Source: the organiser's information page, read 21 Oct 2026.
Can I leave and come back?
Campers can't: the organiser runs a "strict no pass-out policy" for them, while holders of a multi-day ticket who stay off site may leave and return. Gates don't reopen after 8pm on any night. Arrival before 8am on 28 December, and the gate hours by day, are on the dates page. Source: the organiser's information page, read 21 Oct 2026.
Are there sniffer dogs at BTV?
No organiser page uses the words "sniffer dogs". The terms make a search a condition of entry, which "may include, but is not limited to, bag checks, vehicle searches, non-invasive pat downs, metal detector tests and non-invasive drug detection testing", and their prohibited-items list bars animals "excluding service dogs such as guide dogs and Police/emergency service dogs". The information page says police may run roadside testing and that every Car Pass includes one free saliva drug test at its testing partner BMFHQ. Source: the organiser's terms and information page, read 22 Oct 2026.
How many people go to BTV?
The organiser publishes no attendance figure for any edition. The only number in print is The Music Network's, on 6 August 2026, for last year's festival: the 2025/26 edition "drew 40,000 fans to Barunah Plains across four days over New Year's". That is the outlet's figure for 2025/26; nothing has been published for 2026/27.
